  1. Log in to your Sendlane account (don’t have an account yet? Start your 14-day free trial here.) 
  2. Click on Integrations from the left-hand 2. Find and click on Shopify from the list of apps and platforms to configure your integration.
  3. After feeding your online store details, you’ll be redirected to Shopify to sign in to your account. Here, click on the Install unlisted app button.
  4. You’ll be redirected back to Sendlane, where you can manage and configure your Shopify store settings.

1. Track deep data to send more targeted emails

After you connect your Shopify store with Sendlane, you’re able to track dozens of different data points, including:

  • Average order value
  • Customer lifetime value
  • Customer location
  • Purchased since
  • Product type
  • Return status
  • Landing site
  • Referring site
  • … and more!

Digging into data that goes beyond a contact’s name and email unlocks hidden opportunities for growth and personalization.

  • Analyze data on your best and worst-selling products.

1. In Sendlane’s email editor, click on the Content tab in the top-left corner.

2. Under Integrations on the left, simply double-click on the Abandoned Cart block or drag and drop it on to your email.

This block will automatically pull details from the carts abandoned by your Shopify store visitors. These details could include product names, images, and prices.

It will also prompt them to return to your store and complete their purchase!

3. To make the most of this block, create an abandoned cart automation funnel in Sendlane.

This will automatically send your dynamic email to every shopper who abandons their cart on your Shopify store.

3. Add Shopify products to personalize product emails

Another cool feature of integrating Shopify and Sendlane is the ability to automatically add products from your store into your emails.

That’s right!

You don’t need to manually go to your store, and download your product images and details to add to your product recommendation emails.

You can simply add the product picker block inside the email builder, select the products you want to add, and hit send!

This feature makes it super easy to send tailored product emails, such as product recommendations, products on sale, and more.

How to pull Shopify products into your Sendlane emails:

1. In Sendlane’s email editor, click on the Content tab in the top-left corner.

2. Find Integrations on the left, and double-click on the Product block under it. You can also drag and drop this block on to your email.

3. Once you add the block in your email, you can fine-tune the content of your product recommendation email. Edit options like:

  • The number of items you want to show 
  • The Shopify store you’re pulling products from
  • Show or hide the product title
  • Show or hide the product price
  • Show or hide the Buy Now button

4. Create targeted segments to boost email engagement

By leveraging the data points that come with your integration, you can create highly targeted contact segments based on multiple variables.

Multivariable segmentation helps you send hyper-personalized emails to your contacts. For example, you can send a follow-up email to contacts who:

  • Have purchased a product from you in the past
  • Have not engaged with your emails in the last 30 days
  • Have not visited your store in the last 30 days

How to use multivariable segmentation to boost customer LTV

Let’s say you run an online coffee shop. Here’s an example of how you can create a targeted segment in Sendlane using different data points.

See how targeted the segment above is?

These people are contacts who have previously purchased from your shop, specifically your decaf products.

Now that you have this information, you know who to send other emails regarding decaf products to.

Since these people are already interested in decaf products, they’ll be more likely to open, engage with and respond to your emails!

You can also use multivariable segmentation to boost your customer Lifetime Value (LTV).
